Lawrence County Disc Golf
Inside Lawrence county is three eighteen hole disc golf courses that are free to play. You simply go to Lawsons or the Buffalo River Market and buy you a disc and go to the course and throw it. Kids love disc golf as they can really give the disc a good throw with all their might. Ladies are also getting into disc golf. We have several tournaments throughout the year that feature age ranges and class distinction. If you are just starting then you can play in a more novice class or else you have to play with those who are much better. Ladies have their own class and age range. Kids have their own tournaments, usually on different days.
Scout Park Disc Golf Course
Just before you get to David Crockett State Park going west you will see Scout Park. Here is the best beginner friendly disc golf park we have. More fairways are wide open and easy to find your disc when thrown. We advise all new disc golf player to start here. It is free to play and funded by the Lion Club in Lawrenceburg. Those with kids will like it's safe location and the terrain is easy to maneuver with a stroller or cart if you are bringing one. The front 9 holes are on one side of highway 64 while the second 9 holes are under the bridge and across the road. The second set of 9 holes are much more challenging and requires you to be a better disc golf player. Of course we do recommend you try all the holes and have fun while playing disc golf!
Loretto Disc Golf Course
Behind the high school in Loretto Tennessee is their public disc golf course. It is free to play and challenges players more than any other course. This course has a combination of woods and water to compliment the fields. Sometimes you may have to throw your disc between trees in order to get close to the basket. The elevation difference may let the wind get up and effect your disc so you may find the course quite challenging and rewarding to those who can bend their shots. It is good to have a forearm that can hyzer your disc from left to right on some holes and throw straight through the woods on other holes. We believe the Loretto course is a fun course to try out when you are here in Lawrence county!
St. Joe Disc Golf Park
The best mixed course we have is St. Joe Park in Saint Joseph Tennessee. Here is where you will find the perfect mix between fields and woods play. There is also a elevation difference and a hole number 9 where this hole will test even the best disc golfer. Forehand users will be rewarded in shaping their shots and being able to throw a straight shot will help you in the woods. The field hole may have woods around them where you must shape a hyzer or anhyzer to get close to the basket. There are playground equipment at the park if you have kids or people with you who don't want to play disc golf.
Lawrence County Disc Golf Facebook Page
We also have a course at The Farm Community in Summertown. See their page here for their course. The best way to keep in touch with the disc golf community is to join the Lawrence County Disc Golf Page on Facebook! Here is where you can see attention given to the community to watch out for a hornets nest or other danger. A tree might fall near a basket and another golfer may put it on the page so you can find out how to move around it. Some have lost disc and had other find it and return it when the name is written on the bottom. Please be nice and kind to others on the page when you join. See the link in the button below!
