Scout Park Hole 17.

Lawrence County Disc Golf

Inside Lawrence County are three eighteen-hole disc golf courses that are free to play and a course at The Farm. You simply go to Lawsons Outdoors or the Buffalo River Market, buy yourself a disc, go to the course and throw it. Kids love disc golf as they can give the disc a good throw with all of their might. Ladies are also getting into disc golf. We have several tournaments throughout the year that feature age ranges and class distinctions. If you are just getting started, you can play in a more novice class, or you have to play with those who are much better. Ladies have their own class and age range. We list our 4 courses below and a link to the Udisc website where you can find out more about these courses and a private course called Ingram Rock Hills that is only able to be played by permission from the email on the page.

Scout Park Disc Golf Course

Just before you get to David Crockett State Park going west, you will see Scout Park. Here is the best beginner-friendly disc golf park we have. More fairways are wide open, and easy to find your disc when thrown. We advise all new disc golf players to start here. It is free to play and funded by the Lawrenceburg Lions Club. Those with kids will like its safe location, and the terrain is easy to maneuver with a stroller or cart if you are bringing one. The front 9 holes are on one side of Highway 64, while the second 9 holes are under the bridge and across the road. The second set of 9 holes is much more challenging and requires you to be a better disc golf player. Of course, we recommend you try all the holes and have fun while playing disc golf!

Loretto Disc Golf Course

Behind the high school in Loretto, Tennessee, is their public disc golf course. It is free to play and challenges players more than any other course. This course has a combination of woods and water to complement the fields. Sometimes you may have to throw your disc between trees to get close to the basket. The elevation difference may let the wind get up and affect your disc, so you may find the course quite challenging and rewarding to those who can bend their shots. It is good to have a forearm that can hyzer your disc from left to right on some holes and throws straight through the woods on other holes. We believe the Loretto course is a fun course to try out when you are here in Lawrence County!

St. Joe Disc Golf Park

The best-mixed course we have is St. Joe Park in Saint Joseph, Tennessee. Here is where you will find the perfect mix between fields and woods play. There is also an elevation difference on hole number 9, where this hole will test even the best disc golfer. Forehand users will be rewarded for shaping their shots, and being able to throw a straight shot will help you in the woods. The field holes may have woods around them where you must shape a hyzer or anhyzer to get close to the basket. There is playground equipment at the park if you have kids or people with you who don't want to play disc golf.

The Farm in Summertown

This 21 hole course has rolling terrain and long fairways. You can find it on the next right entry from the welcome center where you see the sign. Parking is limited and is shared by the campground. Sometimes you will find the grass to be a bit high as this course is a bit wild. Baskets are pretty good and sometimes far from the pads so longer distance throwers will have a bit of an advantage. If you don't mind to give back a little, please gift the welcome center a few dollars to play here. This course is inside their community to enjoy and they don't have to let us play on it so keep it clean and please do not cause any problems for them so we disc golfers can continue playing this course!

Lawrence County Disc Golf Facebook Page

The best way to keep in touch with the disc golf community is to join the Lawrence County Disc Golf Page on Facebook! Here is where you can get updated attention given to the community to watch out for a hornet's nest or other danger. A tree might fall near a basket, and another golfer may put it on the page so you can find out how to move around it. Some have lost a disc and had another find it and return it when the name is written on the bottom. Please be friendly and kind to others on the page when you join. Area Events

We have a page devoted to the areas best events where you can combine interesting events to include into your vacation itinerary! See our page in the button link below!

Outdoor Activities

We have more outdoor sports than we do inside sports. Let's divide team sports up with parallel sports. A parallel sport is one that is played the same, no matter how many players there are. So if you like golf, tennis, motorcycle and atv, or bicycle sports then we have the place you will love!  We have both ball golf and disc golf courses and plenty of places to ride your ATV on wooded trails and jumping hills!  We also have archery and gun ranges where you can take your best shot and be on target!

Area Woods and Watersports

We have many awesome rivers and lakes in Lawrence county. Visitors come from all over to participate in our great tubing and kayak adventures. There are three great places for fun on the water. Each place we feature opens around May and close labor day weekend. The water temperatures are a bit cold before May and after August. Crockett Shoals Tubing Company is our pick for kids 10 and under as the water is very shallow and the tubes have a bottom so you can't slide out into the water. If a child does fall out of the tube, it is only a foot deep in most places so they just have to stand up. Upa Creek kayak rentals have both tubes, canoes and kayaks and offer different drop off locations according to how long you want to float. Upa Creek is right beside a great restaurant called the Taco Shack if you want to eat after a long float. Double G canoe and kayak rental is for the person who wants a good long float with great scenery. They can even facilitate wheelchairs and other needs for those with disabilities. At Double G they can offer the longest float and the most unique way of putting the kayak in the water!
