Bakeries, Beverages, and Nightlife
Lawrence county has plenty of sweet treats and drink places to satisfy your cravings. The south has always been known for its sweet desserts and drinks. We will feature a few types of drinks since the alcoholic drinks are also famous around the globe! From the Kentucky line down into Tennessee, the sweet tea line has you drinking various teas with sugars and honey. The cakes, pies, and tarts will have you asking about the fruits used to make the treats so sweet! Below are a few places you will want to see for their sweet treats and fruity drinks! Below the bakeries are the nutrition beverage places that sell a variety of teas, smoothies, shakes, and coffee. The bar scene and nightlife are below the beverages section and highlight what we have to offer for your choice of brew house with a cold beer and country dancing. We hope you enjoy your time here in the area!

Sunrise Bakery in Lawrenceburg
Most of us locals have used Sunrise Bakery whenever we wanted doughnuts or cakes. This family-owned business has been around for many years, and the team at Sunrise Bakery get up extra early to make these doughnuts fresh from scratch. They also have doughnut holes where the inside of the doughnut is cut out to make these extra sweet pieces of dough. Sunrise Bakery is open from 4:30 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, and 4:30 am to 12 pm on Saturdays. Call (931) 762-5834 to see what they have in the display case during your visit or to order a dozen doughnuts for your own!
Just off the Lawrenceburg Square is Lawrenceburg Donuts, where you can find a list of things to get! Donuts, eclairs, filled donuts, cinnamon rolls, apple fritters, twists, bear claws, kolaches, croissants, breakfast burritos, and biscuits. Pretty much every breakfast pastry you would want. But they are open from 5 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday and 5 am to 2 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Perfect for those who want a sweet treat after lunch. The topping donuts and donuts holes are a crowd favorite. Below is a Facebook page that fetches data; since they have no other social media at the time of writing, we are sending you to a google page with their information and reviews.
Right in front of Rick's BBQ headquarters in Leoma, Tennessee, is the Biscuit Cabin drive-thru, where you can get a breakfast menu item. You can also get donuts, apple fritters, and muffins on Tuesday through Friday. Coffee lovers will enjoy mocha, vanilla, or hazelnut added or have it plain. They offer tri taters (a triangle-shaped hash brown) on the side. Soft drinks, milk, and orange juice can be added to your order. The Biscuit Cabin is open from 6 am to 11 am Monday through Friday. Go by and let Bruce cut the cheese for you! He has a rap song that he does and many stories to tell. Take caution on his hot cheeses as they can really be hot but most are ok. The Amish and Mennonite cookbooks are popular and he has several sweets and snacks to choose from. See the photos below and see his page here! - https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100069384053552 #amishmennonitetn
The Amish Country Flea Market is open Friday through Sunday from 9-5pm but opens at 6am on Saturdays. They have many vendors who bring all kinds of things to their sale. Just park and walk around and see what they have and visit the other Amish related stores around the market. The market also spans the highway so see the east and the west sides for the best deals. Just make sure to move your car as the highway is hard to predict crossing the road. See their page here - https://www.facebook.com/amish.country.flea.market.18 #amishmennonitetn
I’m sure everyone is having a great time. We believe the Loretto History Museum is a neat point of interest to see while you’re here visiting the Amish. Many of the historical features here are from the pioneering period when we English lived similar to the Amish do now. Today we had an interview with a man who invented a manual pump in the area. Would anyone be interested in seeing it? #amishmennonitetn
As promised, here is the food photos we have so far. We included the menu so zoom in for ingredients and prices. We actually love it there and the ability to walk around and see them preparing the food is better than playing on our phone. Kids have a good menu that includes a dinosaur leg (chicken) and the pizzas are from a real wood fired oven. We don't drink but we hear the bar is great as well. Any large group coming to see the Amish should be just fine to show up here and be served. For extra large groups of 100 or more should call ahead and rent the Venue North that is on the other end of the building. Venue North also has a smaller room or Hinie's has a room for birthday type of events. *I just had to put the embarrassing photo of my business partner Josh and his son David eating on the front! They really like Hinie's BBQ! https://www.facebook.com/HiniesBBQ #amishmennonitetn
This Saturday is the last Farm Market Day in Summertown. I'm sure it will be neat so attend if you haven't been to these every 3rd Saturday events. It will be from 9am to 2pm. The Yoder's Homestead Market on highway 20 usually has donuts on Saturdays for any of you coming from Lewis county that would pass by. Thunderhill Raceway Park and Ethridge Motorsports Park are racing this weekend. The Butter Bean Cafe is open on winter hours of Thursday to Saturday 11am-8pm. Mike's Antiques and Moore is also open 9-4pm Thursday through Saturday. Holiday Acres Farm is having the Halloween Attraction and corn maze open on Friday and Saturday nights from 7-10:30 and their usual Saturday opening for kids 9-5pm. They have the best corn pit of all the fall places so you can include them if you are bringing kids with you to see the Amish. #amishmennonitetn
Local Places To Go For Drinks
We are talking about non-alcoholic drinks here, as nightlife is covered below this section. We love coffee and tea here and will feature these places first. The nutritional teas and specialty drinks will follow as they are found all over the area and vary quite a bit from each other. We are not giving health advice here, but each of the companies listed below has something good for you according to the places they get their drinks.
The Brew in Lawrenceburg
Formerly named "Southern Brew" on the square, they have adopted their nickname and now call themselves The Brew. There are also fruity drinks and kid's drinks, so bring them with you! The Brew is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am until 5 pm.

Co-Work Coffee is the closest place we have to a coffee house you see in the big cities. This 1926 home was renovated to become a cafe and business office for locals who want to save money by co-working in a part of the house as a co-op member. They also have a large variety of foods and teas for those who want more than coffee! They have very high-quality drinks and foods as they also roast their own coffee beans and will send them to you as part of their "coffee to your door" program if you have a favorite coffee from them. Nightlife in the area is very limited due to the religious nature of the majority of the population; the bar scene is left to only a few places to have a drink. There is currently not a dedicated martini bar with piano lounge music or a thriving euro-pop rave party place with EDM music blasting. Or metal head thrashing industrial warehouse with heavy metal bands screaming behind a caged mosh pit. Instead, you can find a few country bars where you can line dance and have a beer with someone who may buy you a drink and ask you where you are from. They often play country music with a bar menu to eat while your conversation runs long. Some of these places require past or current military service or are clubs where you must go with a member or join. We will tell you which ones we would direct you to based on our opinions at the time of writing.
Depot Street Break Room
At one time in history, the Huckety Buck train depot was on Depot Street, and the travelers would get off the train to go home for the day. The Lawrenceburg Hotel and other hangouts would welcome the travelers getting off the trains. The pool hall was the place to be back in those days. Today this is a smoke-free and family-friendly pool hall where you can set the table in standard or 9-ball configurations. Eat pizza, hotdogs, hamburgers, and other foods while you trick-shot your way around the table. Kids have arcades and other games while the adults and bigger kids play pool. They have plenty of drinks, from sodas to beers, to keep you cool while taking a break and hanging out at the Depot Street Break Room. They are open every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6 pm to 3 am.
Good Times Bar
One of the best-known clubs in Lawrenceburg is Good Times Bar. This is not your usual honky tonk bar playing country music. This bar may have a rave or other music and lights going when you walk in. Open all week from 2 pm till 3 am.
Folks at BJ's Bar are known to like their beer cold, the women hot, and people who are crazy! This phrase is on their Facebook page, and they have karaoke and live music on their stages where you can dance. They are open from Monday through Thursday from 1 pm to 11 pm, Friday and Saturday from 12 pm to 2 am, and Sunday from 12 pm to 10 pm.
Parker's Place Bar and Grill.
Here is one of the state line bars that will get you up and dancing. The live country music will be playing in the room while you play pool, shuffleboard, and cornhole. We are unsure of their hours, so call (931) 845-4990 to see when they open.
The Cowpen Bar and Grill
Here is another state line biker bar with shuffleboard, cornhole, and the loudest pipe from motorcycles, with winners chosen by a round of applause. They are open Tuesday and Wednesday from 12 pm to 12 am, Thursday from 12 pm to 1 am, Friday from 12 pm to 2 am, and Saturday from 12 pm to 12 am. Sometimes they're open on Sundays, so see their page.
