Bakeries, Beverages, and Nightlife

Lawrence county has plenty of sweet treats and drink places to satisfy your cravings. The south has always been known for its sweet desserts and drinks. We will feature a few types of drinks since the alcoholic drinks are also famous around the globe! From the Kentucky line down into Tennessee, the sweet tea line has you drinking various teas with sugars and honey. The cakes, pies, and tarts will have you asking about the fruits used to make the treats so sweet! Below are a few places you will want to see for their sweet treats and fruity drinks! Below the bakeries are the nutrition beverage places that sell a variety of teas, smoothies, shakes, and coffee. The bar scene and nightlife are below the beverages section and highlight what we have to offer for your choice of brew house with a cold beer and country dancing. We hope you enjoy your time here in the area!

Allie Grace Bakery

Allie Grace Bakery is located right across the highway from the Best Western Plus Hotel, where you can get a sweet treat or savory eats! So far, Allie does not make donuts at the time of writing but loves to make cupcakes and cookies along with breakfast cinnamon rolls, chocolate croissants, poppy seed scones, and muffins. In addition, cheesecake and brownies can be found in the display case if you are lucky enough to get there first! Allie Grace Bakery is open 8 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday and 8 am to 2 pm on Saturday! See her website linked in the button below!

Sunrise Bakery in Lawrenceburg

Most of us locals have used Sunrise Bakery whenever we wanted doughnuts or cakes. This family-owned business has been around for many years, and the team at Sunrise Bakery get up extra early to make these doughnuts fresh from scratch. They also have doughnut holes where the inside of the doughnut is cut out to make these extra sweet pieces of dough. Sunrise Bakery is open from 4:30 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday and 4:30 am to 12 pm on Saturdays. Call (931) 762-5834 to see what they have in the display case during your visit or to order a dozen doughnuts for your own!

But they are open 5 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, and 5 am to 2 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Perfect for those who want a sweet treat after lunch. The topping donuts and donuts holes are a crowd favorite. Below is a Facebook page that fetches data; since they have no other social media at the time of writing, we are sending you to a google page with their information and reviews.

Signs-signs-everywhere an Amish sign! We get asked from time to time how to? Well? Amish!!!! It's not good english but we English aren't that good at explaining to visitors how to come see the Amish community. We have a deep dive into this subject on our upcoming website but mainly you come to Ethridge and follow the signs! If you see a sign with something you want. You simply pull in the driveway and ask them about it. Bring enough cash and you can take it home. No credit or shipping necessary! We want to welcome all of our visitors to get a map from Diann at the Amish Wagon Ride Tours and go into the Amish community for themselves. Of course you can take a tour first and get some pointers from her expert staff and then head out. Have fun everybody!!

The Amish Lodge is our recommended place for those with pets and kids or smokers who don't mind smoking outside. Those who want to be close to the Amish community can watch them from above from the back porch. Located on a private drive next to a park, the Amish lodge has all you need to sit and relax on the covered patio and make smores over the wood fire! You get a grill and kitchen to make meals of the Amish produce you bought or go out to Marshall's Grocery for breakfast across the street or walk down to the Butter Bean Cafe. They are the only place we've seen with an indoor ping pong table for kids to play on. The shower is very interesting to wash off the dust after a long wagon ride. See the photos and the link below if you want to book the Amish Lodge! https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/48680273?source_impression_id=p3_1656338381_yPcTh%2BW88aHdiaOT

This might not be that Amish related exactly but summertime has me testing the durability of my sperry gold cups and expensive deodorants. I’ve never seen Amish men buy either one but I’m sure they laugh a little when I come by and see them. Josh and I see a few Amish friends and meet new people who are new to us as we get out into Amish country. We try to stay up on what they have and things they’re making. We also get a lot of questions back to us. Some of them are funny and some of them make you think they don’t like being Amish anymore. We do love our Amish friends and the community here. Please treat them nice and respect each other as the growing season continues and the traffic gets congested. You also need to dress modestly as the Amish don’t care much for men or women dressing like they come from a swimming pool. They like to make fun of my white legs in shorts and sissy shoes 🤣 Please keep watch and liking our post. We write from experience as we drive around talking with our Amish neighbors here in the Ethridge community

Amish Country in Ethridge is always busy in the summer months. I guess agriculture and farm life is so ingrained here in Lawrence county that all of our events have some kind of country aspect. We even have huge events featuring tractors and rodeos. Our Christmas parades even have horses and tractors in them. Our visitors love this community for the laid back farming community it is. If this sounds like music to your ears, then it is for good reason. Lawrenceburg is the birthplace of southern gospel music and was the place of the first radio station of it's kind in Tennessee. WOAN radio let the nation hear Mr. James D. Vaughan and his gospel quartets. See the many sights and sounds while you are on your Amish Adventure here in Ethridge Tennessee by combining your trip with other good times. If you need a place to stay along the way? Then we can help you there too! We her at the Amish of Ethridge just want our visitors to have a really great time when visiting us here in Lawrence county. See our previous post or our other pages for more to do while you are here!

Here is an unfinished few clips of the field and night play at Summertown Airsoft. See the laser looking bb's going through the sky. Any family coming to see the Amish can go here and play for an additional thing to do while you are here. We just wanted everyone to see it in action at night! Go by and play Fridays from 6pm-10pm Saturdays at 9am to 5pm and Sundays 12:30-5:30pm.

This time of year does bring crowds to the events and clutters the roads with new people. Some people escape the crowds by getting on a kayak or tube from our friends below! Hang back in the pack and you can have a relaxing float down the creek away from the 4th of July events coming up. You can also rent a boat at Crockett Park, Laurel Hill, and VFW lakes. We don't want to leave out anyone who wants to remove themselves during the more populated events. See below for these photos and make plans today!

Local Places To Go For Drinks

We are talking about non-alcoholic drinks here as nightlife is covered below this section. We love coffee and teas here and will feature these places first. The nutritional teas and specialty drinks will follow as they are found all over the area and vary quite a bit from each other. We are not giving health advice here, but each of the companies listed below has something good for you according to the places they get their drinks.

The Brew In Lawrenceburg.

Formerly named "Southern Brew" on the square, they have adopted their nickname and now call themselves The Brew. They are our top drink recommendation due to their wide variety and proximity to local tourism destinations! They have both coffee and teas in both hot and cold ways! There are also fruity drinks and kid's drinks, so bring them with you! The Brew is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am until 5 pm.

Co-Work Coffee is the closest place we have to a coffee house you see in the big cities. This 1926 home was renovated to become a cafe and business office for locals who want to save money by co-working in a part of the house as a co-op member. They also have a large variety of foods and teas for those who want more than coffee! They have very high-quality drinks and foods as they also roast their own coffee beans and will send them to you as part of their "coffee to your door" program if you have a favorite coffee from them. Co-Work Coffee is open Monday-Friday from 7 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 8 am until 2 pm. Below is a link to their website to see their coffee and foods menu!

Chilly Willie's

Right in front of Jones Home Furnishings is the Chilly Willie's shaved ice trailer, where you can get all kinds of colorful drinks to go! They are open from 12 pm to 7 pm Monday through Friday, from 12 pm to 6 pm on Saturday, and from 1 pm to 5 pm on Sundays in the summer months.

Nightlife in the area is very limited due to the religious nature of the majority of the population; the bar scene is left to only a few places to have a drink. There is currently not a dedicated martini bar with piano lounge music or a thriving euro-pop rave party place with EDM music blasting. Or metal head thrashing industrial warehouse with heavy metal bands screaming behind a caged mosh pit. Instead, you can find a few country bars where you can line dance and have a beer with someone who may buy you a drink and ask you where you are from. They often play country music with a bar menu to eat while your conversation runs long. Some of these places require past or current military service or are clubs where you must go with a member or join. We will tell you which ones we would direct you to based on our opinions at the time of writing.

Depot Street Break Room Buildings.

Depot Street Break Room Buildings.

Depot Street Break Room

At one time in history, the Huckety Buck train depot was on Depot Street, and the travelers would get off the train to go home for the day. The Lawrenceburg Hotel and other hangouts would welcome the travelers getting off the trains. The pool hall was the place to be back in those days. Today this is a smoke-free and family-friendly pool hall where you can set the table in standard or 9-ball configurations. Eat pizza, hotdogs, hamburgers, and other foods while you trick shot your way around the table. Kids have arcades and other games while the adults and bigger kids play pool. They have plenty of drinks from sodas to beers, to keep you cool while taking a break and hanging out at the Depot Street Break Room. They are open every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6 pm to 3 am.
