Amish Country Smoke House From Road.

Amish Country Smoke House

When you pull into the driveway you can smell the Amish cut logs burning in the two large smokers in the back building. Paul and Linda McBride wanted a place they can cook their bbq surrounded by the Amish people that are right beside the restaurant. This restaurant has seating for a tour bus in the side pavilion and seating for many around the buildings front and back sections. The Amish have hitching rails where they can hitch their horses to go in and eat. The Amish also hang a paper advertisement inside so you may find a deal on a unique Amish gift. We will share photos below!

The foods are cooked in large quantities and stored well as they scoop you out the sides of green beans, baked beans, mac and cheese, or cheesy potatoes in a small bowl on the side of your tray. The meats are the star of the show here as the smoked chicken, pulled pork, ribs and brisket are the daily choices. The brisket is not as trimmed as other places for those who know that fat is flavor and want a chunky slice of brisket. The restaurant also has their own line of sauces made in house and go from sweet to about a medium. They do have a hot sauce that is nice and hot but not so hot to burn you. The cheery made bbq sauce is a must try as it is very rare. They do have half and full rack of ribs that should fall off the bone.

Being right down the road from all the major points of interest makes the location great for stopping in after a day of visiting the Amish people. Those bidding at the Plowboy Produce Auction will definitely like getting a good lunch after a day at the auction. The side section has 10 picnic tables that can seat 6 people each so a whole tour bus could stop here or other large group of up to 60 persons. Kids can run around the back of the place while their parents eat as the yard is large.

Before and after their full rack of ribs!

These St. Louis style ribs are smoked over Amish cut lumber and seasoned by the owner!
