For those plowing along in my course, there was a new update from the Thrive Suite that gives you an email with a direct link access once you purchase the course. So many of you have had trouble logging in and there wasn't much I could do but now you can just keep the email and always use it if your login doesn't go right. Another thing is that you must watch all the video till the end and not skip any lessons as the certificate at the end will not let you download it as it sees that the course was incomplete. I also added a few videos to my road trip course as some people had a hard time understanding what I was saying. If any of this is news to you the reader then see my page as these courses are the only way I make this possible. Locals to the area would better be suited to my road trip course where I show the best way to take a road trip and see the Amish and Mennonite communities in Tennessee along with points of interest. I personally designed and made each one of these courses and it is me who teaches them without any AI or chatbot easy answers. https://progenyadventuregroup.com/the-progeny-shop/
The greenhouses are going and the plows have been running this month. You may see the Amish people preparing for a good spring. Keeto's Antiques and Collectables open Wednesday through Saturday 10-5pm and has neat things inside as they auction old estate sales and have a bunch of things inside their store. I asked a kid one day what he though of the Amish after he went on a wagon ride. He said he seen a bunch of old stuff. I had to admit, he wasn't wrong. I told him some people love to see old stuff and these stores keep up with all the old stuff people want. So are you one of those who likes old stuff? Tell us in the comments below! #amishmennonitetn
Milk seems to be a popular topic here lately and there are some Amish who will sell milk but they want you to be on a schedule. They usually don't just put it out at the stands as it might not sell so you need to inquire and find a family with an opening. However the Flowers Creamery is a local company who minimally processes their milk and has a store you can try out a small amount. Taylor Family Farms is just up the road from Flowers Creamery and has the Amish style milk in a refrigerator if you don't want on a schedule and just want to try it out. I need to give some of you some advice. If you have only had the box store milk you may not like the Amish style milk. It is different and taste a bit funky. The Amish butter is the same way, you need to try it first before heading in and getting a lot of it. Many of our inquiring persons are hearing things online and want to go full in and they usually always end up not liking it. I feel Flowers Creamery would be a great halfway option and just as good as the Amish style and those who know what they are doing and what they are getting into have already made their decision. If your curiosity is peaked then try out these places and see the farms of both. I believe you will definitely taste the difference over the watery box store varieties. Both of these stores also have more than milk so be sure to look through the gallery and include them on your visiting schedules. #amishmennonitetn
A few of you asked if there are tables and beds coming to the auction April 11th. Here are a few from last years auction. We don't know just what comes to the auction but since the past few years auction were highly successful, the Amish are most likely making plenty of furniture to auction. #amishmennonitetn
Make plans to attend the Plowboy Produce Auction annual Amish furniture auction Saturday April 11th at 9am. You have just over a month to get things in order and find out what you want. I will include furniture from past auctions in the gallery as proof of what comes to this one time auction. You are allowed to come early to get your name and number for bidding and see what is available at the time. Many of our builders will switch from wood to plants after this auction so bid to win! The Amish builders usually attend the auction so if you do miss something you might be able to get one made for you but many times it will be higher in cost. See the Plowboy Produce Auction page here for any news and sneak peeks at what is come in from the Amish. I will add a few webpages where I share the best places to stay, where to eat, and where other points of interest are located. #amishmennonitetn
The Flatrock Cheese and More in Giles County is a Mennonite bulk food and deli. Many of our visitors come from the eastern side of Tennessee and may pass by. They also have many of the building made here in Ethridge at 35 Gray road in Ethridge. They tend to stock up on raw grains and quality items we home cooks need. If you are on your way here or going to your next stop you can go in. Monday and Thursday are their sandwich day so the deli will be open so be sure to go by. Lirette's Cajun is just down the road and well worth the stop if you want real cajun foods from Louisiana. I will share maps and links in the comment section! #amishmennonitetn
