Free Amish Community Course!

I am excited t tell you we now have a free version of our premium course available now! This course is for those who are just passing through or only want to visit the Amish community in one day. Many of you are not going to go the extra mile we cover in our premium course so we made a short version to help you. 

About 80% of our premium course will be left out of this course so do not think that this free course is as good or as complete because the premium course is for those who have never been to the Amish or Mennonite communities before and need help making a vacation to see the area Anabaptist groups. For the people who need it our premium course will serve them better. For others who only want to come buy a vegetable or chair will be fine with this free course.

I made this course free to remove the financial barrier to entry as I only make money by selling courses. Sometimes you just need to do the right thing and make something with no money attached to it and no age barrier so that the maximum amount of people can enjoy the education you are giving them. If someone wants more information and my personal attention they can get my premium courses after they take the free course. 

Why did I create this course?

I have been to so many Amish vegetable stands where someone picks out a few veggies and tries to pay with a debit card, or ask for their phone number, or is dressed in a way that the Amish won't even acknowledge they are wanting to buy things so they walk off. If these people only knew a bit about the Amish way of life they could have prepared better. Hopefully they can take this course and learn a lot more about the Amish lifestyle before going back to visit them.

Who is this course for?

Anyone wanting to come to Ethridge to visit the Amish could benefit from this course. Even if you are from Ethridge and have visited them your whole life, you can still benefit from taking the course. Plus it's free so it's not like you are our a lot of money. 

What is covered by this course?

In the beginning of this course I give a short description of the Module-Chapter-Lesson-Quiz knowledge flow I use. In Module 1 Chapter 1- I introduce myself and talk about the Anabaptist movement the Amish are a part of. The area is next as the history of the Ethridge town is something many of the people visiting seem to like hearing about. In Chapter 2 - I talk about the parts you see like barns, homes, farms, and kids in the Amish community. I also talk about the parts you can't see like membership into a church district, community living and the separation from the world. Then onto myths and legends about the Amish people that people hear about.  

In Module 2 Chapter 1 - I talk about travel logistics. This is where some people will be staying the night and looking for places to stay, where to eat, and more things to do while they are here. Many of you locals can skip this part but I feel it is important as we are getting a lot of new people from other states who know nothing about the Amish or worse, they only know what is on tv. In Chapter 2 - We show you how to find the Amish homes, talk to the Amish people, and buy things from their stands and shops.

In Module 3 - We talk about your post visit and next steps. For may of those visiting here you will have a lot to talk about and we show you how to chronicle your trip and share your view with others. Some of you will want to go see other Amish and Mennonite communities so we show you how to do this as well along with learning resources that can take you further!
